What is Compressed Video?

Video compression refers to reducing the quantity of data used to represent video images, and this is almost always coupled with the goal of retaining as much of the original's quality as possible. Compressed video can effectively reduce the bandwidth required to transmit digital video via phone line, via cable, or via satellite services.

The most universal compressed video application today is Flash video. The flash video player is installed on 98% of the computers in the world. This is why we chose Flash as our application for this site.
